Submission Terms

Effective 7 September 2026

These Submission Terms (the “Terms”) govern your application to, submission of materials to, and participation in events and related activities organized by Boston Venture Connect (“BVC”), an initiative operated by LJ Labs LLC (“LJ Labs”, “we”, “us”). References in these Terms to BVC mean the Boston Venture Connect initiative as operated by LJ Labs LLC. By submitting an application or participating in a BVC event or related activity, you accept these Terms.

You are referred to in these Terms as the “Applicant”. If you do not accept these Terms, do not submit an application; write to contact@bostonventureconnect.com instead.

1. Definitions. “Materials” means the presentation deck and any other content, data or information you submit. “Partners” means the investors, corporate partners, universities, public-sector bodies, and other organizations with which BVC collaborates. “Event” means a BVC pitch session or related activity for which Applicants are selected.

2. Ownership. You retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Materials. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of, or any intellectual property right in, the Materials to BVC. You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit the Materials and to grant the licenses set out below, and that the Materials do not infringe the rights of any third party. If you submit Materials on behalf of an entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Licence to review. You grant BVC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, and review the Materials for the purpose of assessing your application and administering the Event.

4. Disclosure to Partners. If your company is selected, you further grant BVC the right to disclose the Materials to Partners for the purposes of the Event. Where your company is not selected, BVC will not disclose the Materials to Partners.

5. No confidentiality. BVC does not receive the Materials in confidence. No confidentiality or non-disclosure obligation arises between you and BVC, or between you and any Partner or attendee, by reason of your submission or participation, and BVC will not execute a non-disclosure agreement in respect of an application. You must not submit trade secrets, information subject to a confidentiality obligation, sensitive personal information, personal data relating to third parties that you are not authorised to disclose, or information whose non-confidential disclosure could adversely affect patent or other intellectual-property rights. You submit the Materials at your own risk and should submit only material you are willing to disclose to a third party.

6. Name and marks. You grant BVC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your company name, trade name, and logo to identify you as an applicant to, participant in, or presenter at an Event, on BVC’s website and in its presentations, press, and promotional materials. BVC will not materially alter your logo, except for reasonable formatting, resizing, or technical adaptations necessary for display. You may withdraw this license as to future use by written notice; it continues in respect of materials already published.

7. Capture and use of the Event. An Event may be photographed, audio-recorded, and video-recorded in whole or in part. You grant BVC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and distribute such photographs and recordings, including the likeness, voice, name, and presentation content of your representatives appearing in them, for the purpose of promoting BVC and its events. You are responsible for obtaining the consent of each representative who takes part. If you object to the capture or use of any part of your participation, notify us in writing before the Event.

8. No offer, no advice, no assurance. Submission of the Materials does not entitle you to selection, participation, introduction to any person, investment or any other outcome, and selection is at BVC’s sole discretion. BVC does not provide investment, legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, does not act as a broker-dealer, investment adviser or placement agent, and does not offer or solicit securities. Nothing communicated at or in connection with an Event constitutes advice or a recommendation, and BVC does not endorse any Applicant, Partner or attendee. BVC acquires no equity, option or other interest in your company as a condition of application or participation.

9. Limitation of liability. The application process and the Events are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranty of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BVC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your application, your participation, the use by any Partner or attendee of Materials you have chosen to share, or the modification, postponement or cancellation of an Event. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BVC’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms, an application or an Event shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid by the Applicant to BVC in connection with the applicable Event and (b) $100.

10. Personal data. LJ Labs LLC, as the operator of BVC, processes contact information you provide, personal data contained in the Materials, and limited technical information generated in connection with your submission, in order to respond to your application, administer the Event and keep you informed of future BVC programs and events. You may opt out of such updates at any time using the link in any message or by writing to contact@bostonventureconnect.com. Correspondence about your application itself is unaffected. BVC uses third-party service providers to operate the application process, including Supabase Inc. for hosting, file storage and database services, Vercel Inc. for website hosting, and an email service provider for correspondence. These providers process the data on BVC’s behalf and may store it in the United States. BVC does not sell personal data and does not share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.

11. Retention. BVC retains applications and Materials for up to 24 months from the date of submission, after which they are deleted or anonymised, unless continued retention is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, establish, exercise or defend legal claims, maintain security, prevent fraud, or meet other legitimate compliance requirements. Residual copies may remain in routine backups until those backups are overwritten or deleted in accordance with BVC’s normal backup-retention procedures.

12. Your rights. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data and the Materials at any time by writing to contact@bostonventureconnect.com. BVC will honor such requests as required by applicable law and, where applicable, subject to reasonable legal, security, backup, and record-retention requirements.

13. Withdrawal. You may withdraw your application at any time by written notice to contact@bostonventureconnect.com. Withdrawal does not require BVC to recall Materials already disclosed in accordance with these Terms and does not affect licenses relating to Event recordings or materials already published.

14. Changes. The date, format, duration, and content of an Event may change, and BVC will notify selected Applicants by email of any material change. BVC may amend these Terms; the version in force at the time of your submission governs that submission.

15. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts shall have exclusive jurisdiction, save where mandatory law provides otherwise.

16. General. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and LJ Labs LLC in connection with BVC in respect of the submission of Materials. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.

We use this address to respond to your application and share BVC event updates. You can opt out of updates at any time.

Where founders apply from

You don’t have to be here yet.

Decks reach us from Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, Berlin, and across the United States. Boston is where the room is. It is not where you have to be.

You do not need a US entity, a US address or a US co-founder to apply or to present. If your company is selected we tell you what to prepare and how the session runs.

  • Any country
  • No US entity required
  • Decks in English

Who's in the room

The people you came to Boston for.

Boston Venture Connect runs its programs with venture funds, corporate innovation teams, university research offices and public-sector innovation agencies. A pitch session is where those groups sit in the same room, and where a company gets to be specific in front of all of them at once.

Boston anchors one of the world's densest innovation ecosystems: leading universities, world-class research institutions, deep venture capital and a startup community driving artificial intelligence, biotechnology, healthcare, robotics, fintech, and life sciences.

What we look for

Specific beats polished.

  1. A case you can make

What you are building, who it is for, and why now. Stage does not decide this. How well you make the case does.

  2. A reason Boston fits

US market entry, a research partner, a clinical site, a corporate pilot. Tell us what you would use this ecosystem for.

  3. A specific ask

Name what you want from the room: a first US customer, a co-investor, a lab partner, a distributor. Specific asks get specific answers.
