Presenter Terms
These Presenter Terms (the “Presenter Terms”) apply when a company selected to present at an event organized by Boston Venture Connect (“BVC”), an initiative operated by LJ Labs LLC (“LJ Labs”, “we”, “us”), confirms its place by paying the Presenter Fee. That company is the “Presenter”, and the event is the “Event”. The Presenter Terms add to the Submission Terms the Presenter accepted when it applied, which continue to apply. Where the two differ on a matter covered here, the Presenter Terms govern.
1. The place. A confirmed place lets the Presenter present at the Event named in its acceptance email, in the format and for the time stated there and on its confirmation page. For BVC Winter Pitch on Thursday 19 November 2026, that is a 7-minute pitch followed by 3 minutes of questions. One representative presents for each company. BVC sets the running order.
2. The Presenter Fee. The amount and currency of the Presenter Fee are stated in the acceptance email and on the confirmation page. The Presenter Fee covers the venue, operations, promotion, audiovisual production, and the live video link that brings remote presenters into the room. It is paid through Stripe, BVC’s payment provider, which sends a receipt and an invoice by email. A place is confirmed only once payment has been received.
3. Holding a place. The acceptance email holds a place until the date and time it states. After that, BVC may still accept payment while places remain, but does not guarantee a place, and may release a place that has not been paid for.
4. Refunds. BVC refunds the Presenter Fee in full if the Event is cancelled, if it is moved to a date the Presenter cannot attend and the Presenter tells us so in writing, or if a problem on our side prevents the Presenter’s pitch. Otherwise the Presenter Fee is non-refundable once paid, including where the venue, time, running order, or format of the Event changes (for example, from in person to online), where the Presenter switches to remote presentation by choice, where travel or a visa cannot be arranged, and where the Presenter does not take part. Refunds go to the original payment method.
5. Presenting remotely or in person. The Presenter chooses on the confirmation page whether to present by live video from anywhere or in person in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The Presenter may switch to remote presentation at any time. A switch to in person is subject to room capacity and needs BVC’s written agreement. Where room capacity, a change of venue, or safety requires it, BVC may change a Presenter’s format from in person to remote. BVC will tell the Presenter by email no later than 14 days before the Event; for BVC Winter Pitch, by 5 November 2026. The Presenter Fee is the same for both formats, so a change of format is not grounds for a refund.
6. Travel and remote participation. A Presenter presenting in person arranges and pays for its representative’s travel, accommodation, and visa. BVC does not sponsor visas. A Presenter presenting remotely needs a stable internet connection, a camera, and a microphone, and joins at the time BVC gives.
7. Program listing and promotion. On the confirmation page the Presenter may add a company logo, a presenter photo, a one-line description, and LinkedIn links, and may update its details until the date shown there. The Presenter grants BVC a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use its company name and logo, its presenter’s name, title, and photo, and its one-line description to list the Presenter in the Event program and to promote the Event and future BVC events, on BVC’s website and social media and in its presentations and promotional materials. This license extends section 6 of the Submission Terms. The Presenter confirms that it may grant it, including with the presenter’s consent, and may withdraw it as to future use by written notice; it continues for materials already published. BVC may shorten or format descriptions for consistency.
8. Recordings. Section 7 of the Submission Terms (capture and use of the Event) applies to the Presenter’s pitch and questions, whether presented remotely or in person.
9. Withdrawal of a place. BVC may withdraw a confirmed place if information the Presenter gave was materially false or misleading, or if the Presenter’s conduct in connection with the Event is unlawful or abusive. The Presenter Fee is then not refunded.
10. No outcomes. Presenting does not entitle the Presenter to any introduction, meeting, investment, recognition as a BVC Featured Startup, or other outcome. Section 8 of the Submission Terms applies.
11. Other terms. Sections 9 (limitation of liability), 14 (changes), and 15 (governing law) of the Submission Terms apply to the Presenter Terms. BVC may update the Presenter Terms for later Events; the version the Presenter accepted when paying governs its place. Questions go to contact@bostonventureconnect.com.
